A school bus turning onto Loop Road hit a 66-year-old woman in Auburn Wednesday afternoon, sending her to the hospital.
Police say the crash happened just before 2 p.m. at the intersection of Genesee Street and Loop Road. The bus, operated by First Student and carrying some students, had been heading west on Genesee when it turned left onto Loop.
That’s when it struck the pedestrian, who was walking east on the sidewalk, according to the Auburn Police Department.
The woman was taken to University (Upstate) Hospital for a possible head injury. Police say the injury wasn’t life-threatening, but she was admitted as a precaution.
No one on the bus was hurt. The driver has not been identified, and the investigation is ongoing.
