Bills pull away in fourth quarter, beat winless Saints to improve to 4-0 (full coverage)

The Buffalo Bills extended their perfect start to the 2025 season with a 31-19 win over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday afternoon at Highmark Stadium, improving to 4-0 for the first time since 2020. Josh Allen accounted for three total touchdowns, two passing and one rushing.

Buffalo jumped out to a 14-7 first-quarter lead behind a 43-yard touchdown catch-and-run from Khalil Shakir and a James Cook scoring run. Cook topped 100 rushing yards for the second time this year, finishing with 117 and his fifth touchdown of the season. Allen completed 16-of-22 passes for 209 yards and added 45 yards on the ground.

New Orleans stayed close through three quarters thanks to 189 rushing yards and a short Spencer Rattler-to-Chris Olave touchdown, but the Saints’ passing attack stalled at 126 yards. A failed trick play near the goal line, with Cole Bishop intercepting Olave on a “Philly special” pass, shifted momentum just before halftime.

Allen’s late 27-yard scramble and ensuing 28-yard strike to Dalton Kincaid put Buffalo up 28-19, and Matt Prater’s field goal sealed it. Defensive stands from Tre’Davious White and a fourth-down strip-sack by A.J. Epenesa and Joey Bosa closed the door.

Though they didn’t play their best football, the Buffalo offense reached the 30-point mark yet again.
