Canandaigua man violates protection order in Seneca Falls

Police arrested a man Thursday evening after an investigation into repeated calls made to someone he was legally barred from contacting.

Brian Ryan, of Canandaigua, was taken into custody around 5:03 p.m. on September 18 by the Town of Seneca Falls Police Department. Officers picked him up on an outstanding arrest warrant tied to multiple unauthorized phone contacts with a protected party.

According to police, the calls violated an active court-issued order of protection.

Ryan now faces two charges: Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree, a misdemeanor, and Harassment in the Second Degree, a violation.

After his arrest, officers processed Ryan at the Seneca Falls Police Department before transporting him to the Seneca County Correctional Facility. He’s currently awaiting arraignment.
