Residents packed a town hall at Binghamton’s Youth Rec Center Tuesday night to debate the future of Columbus Park’s name, according to WICZ.
Some argued to keep the name, while others pushed for change. Each speaker had a few minutes to make their case. Local historian Roger Luther also shared the park’s backstory during the event, hosted by the Broome-Tioga NAACP.
Binghamton City Council members attended, but no official decision has been made yet.
