A fire that damaged refrigeration systems has forced the Tops in Big Flats to close temporarily, according to WETM.
The August 25 blaze started in a rooftop unit and spread to the compressor room. No one was injured, thanks to a quick evacuation. The store remains without power and is running on an emergency generator while investigators assess the damage.
Tops officials say repairs could take up to a year. In the meantime, shoppers are being directed to the Elmira location at 1600 Cedar Street.
