A Geneva woman admitted guilt in a pit bull attack that left a Rochester father and son seriously injured last summer, according to the Finger Lakes Times.
Madison Herendeen, 27, pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment and must serve 100 hours of community service, avoid new charges, and help pay over $8,200 in restitution. The off-leash dog, co-owned by Herendeen, mauled Rory VanGrol and his 10-year-old son in Canandaigua on August 29, 2024.
The dog had a history of aggression and was euthanized. The co-owner, Casey Murphy, was sentenced in May.
