Reckless driving complaint leads to felony DWI arrest for Canandaigua man

A driver was arrested Tuesday evening after deputies responded to a reckless driving complaint in Yates County.

Timothy P. Pratt, 64, of Canandaigua, was charged with felony DWI and several traffic violations after deputies pulled him over on State Route 14a in the Town of Benton.

According to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office, deputies stopped Pratt around 6:49 p.m. after locating the reported vehicle. They say he showed signs of intoxication during field sobriety tests and refused to take a chemical test.

In addition to felony DWI under common law, Pratt is facing three counts of failure to keep right, speeding in a 55 mph zone, and reckless driving.

He was taken to the Yates County Jail and is being held pending his appearance in CAP court.
