A Dundee woman was taken to the hospital Monday morning following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Six Corners Road and Glenn Road in the Town of Barrington.
According to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 8:55 a.m. on August 25 when 79-year-old Gerald Gascon of Millport failed to yield the right of way and struck a van traveling south on Six Corners Road.
The van, driven by 37-year-old Sara Raplee of Dundee, was forced off the road and came to rest on the west shoulder. Raplee sustained a hand injury and was transported by Yates EMS to Geneva General Hospital for treatment.
Gascon was evaluated by medics from Dundee Ambulance but declined further medical care at the scene. He was issued a traffic ticket for failure to yield the right of way and is scheduled to appear in Barrington Town Court.
Responding agencies included Dundee Fire Department, Dundee Ambulance, Yates EMS, and the Office of Emergency Services. The crash was investigated by Sgt. Jeffrey Rider and Deputy Crofoot of the Yates County Sheriff’s Office.
