A state bill would require hospitals in the 340B Drug Pricing Program to report how savings are used — amid concerns some are spending funds on executive pay or unrelated upgrades.
At the same time, a federal pilot introducing rebates aims to improve tracking of drug discounts. Critics say the program is flawed, but lawmakers argue it’s vital for rural and safety-net hospitals.
