Sublime concert to bring traffic delays Friday near Canandaigua venue

Drivers heading near the Canandaigua area Friday evening should expect traffic delays as fans pour in for the Sublime concert.

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office is urging concertgoers and local travelers to plan ahead and avoid Lakeshore Drive unless they have premium parking passes.

The show is set for Friday, August 22. Venue lots will open at 3:30 p.m., with doors at 5:30 p.m. and the concert kicking off at 7:00 p.m.

Best parking and traffic tips

For most fans, the G-Lot is the top parking choice. It’s located off County Road 18 on the venue’s south side and costs just $10. It’s also a short walk to the venue. Shuttles will also be running to and from Parkway Plaza for added convenience.

Coming from Route 5&20? Deputies recommend turning south on Route 247, then taking a right onto County Road 18. Watch for signs to the G-Lot a few miles down.

Other alternate routes include:

  • State Route 247 → County Road 18
  • State Route 364 → County Road 18

Avoid the gridlock

Authorities say traffic near the venue can back up fast, especially around Lakeshore Drive. If you don’t have a premium parking pass, stay clear of that area and follow alternate routes.

Plan ahead, drive safely, and enjoy the music.
