A new local partnership is blending fine food, Finger Lakes wine, and environmental conservation—all in one delicious dish.
Nolan’s on Canandaigua Lake, Heron Hill Winery, and the Canandaigua Lake Watershed Association (CLWA) have launched Savor the flavor. Support the lake., a campaign running through September 30 to raise awareness and funding for lake protection efforts.
As part of the initiative, Nolan’s is featuring a limited-edition unoaked Chardonnay from Heron Hill Winery, created specifically to support CLWA. Ten percent of every bottle sold goes directly toward the nonprofit’s mission to protect and preserve Canandaigua Lake.
The August featured entrée is a Peach Burrata Salad, a seasonal pairing designed to complement the bright, crisp Chardonnay—and support the lake with every bite and sip.
“This partnership is a wonderful way to bring the community together around two things we all love—great food and a healthy lake,” said Katrina Busch, CLWA board member.
Nolan’s co-owner Nick Violas said the restaurant team is fully trained on the importance of the partnership. “Every guest experience comes with not just exceptional food and wine, but also a shared commitment to keeping Canandaigua Lake healthy for the future.”
Jessie Gorcica, Director of Sales and Marketing at Heron Hill Winery, added, “This collaboration is about more than wine—it’s about preserving what makes this place so special.”
CLWA has recently expanded its water quality monitoring program with over 80 citizen scientists tracking harmful algal blooms and other environmental indicators. The group also works with municipalities and residents on sustainable landscaping and lake-friendly practices.
