Thompson Health celebrates nine new LPN graduates

Nine certified nursing assistants at the M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center in Canandaigua are now licensed practical nurses after graduating from the Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES Adult LPN program earlier this month.

The August 8 graduation ceremony in Newark marked a major milestone for the group, many of whom were supported through Thompson Health’s CNA-to-LPN program.

Graduates include Shelby Balistere (Mendon), Marissa Beadnell (Bloomfield), Alicia Campagna, McKayla Franklin, Amanda Mackenzie, Viviana Steiner, and Alexandra Sullivan (all of Canandaigua), Adiah Northrup (Naples), and Tiana Orbaker (Waterloo).

Four of the graduates completed the program with full tuition coverage and wage support through Thompson’s internal CNA-to-LPN initiative, which allows participants to attend school part-time while receiving the pay equivalent of a full-time schedule. A fifth graduate received additional tuition assistance from the organization.

Located at 350 Parrish Street, the M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center is a 178-bed skilled-nursing facility that offers both long-term and short-term rehabilitation care. It is part of UR Medicine Thompson Health.
