A long-time Steuben County law enforcement officer was honored this week as he wrapped up a three-decade career.
Investigator Marcus Smith walked out of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office for the final time, marking his retirement after 30 years of service. Colleagues, friends, family, and fellow officers gathered to celebrate the moment.
Smith served in several roles during his time with the sheriff’s office, including Deputy Sheriff, Sergeant, First Sergeant, CIRT Commander, and most recently, Criminal Investigator.
Sheriff Jim Allard thanked Smith for his dedication and wished him well in retirement, saying the department was proud to honor his years of professionalism and leadership.
