Residents will have a chance to safely dispose of old chemicals, paints, and other hazardous items next month.
The Wayne County Soil and Water Conservation District will host a Household Hazardous Waste Event on Saturday, September 6, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Wayne County Highway Department, 7227 Route 31 in Lyons.
Pre-registration required
Those planning to participate must pre-register online. The website also lists which items will be accepted and which will not.
The event is designed to keep dangerous materials out of landfills and waterways by giving residents a safe disposal option.
