A Wayne County man already facing multiple larceny charges was arrested again this weekâthis time on a warrant for failing to appear in court.
Deputies arrested 39-year-old Ryan J. Lawliss of Ontario on August 13 after discovering an active warrant out of Walworth Town Court. The warrant stemmed from a missed court date related to a petit larceny charge. Lawliss was already in custody on unrelated charges when deputies served the warrant at the Wayne County Jail. He was arraigned the same day.
This latest arrest adds to a string of incidents involving Lawliss this year. In July, he was charged with petit larceny after deputies said he walked out of a Marion Speedway with two Mikeâs Harder drinks and a lighter concealed in his clothing. Surveillance footage reportedly captured the theft, and he was arrested days later.
Back in March, Lawliss was arrested after employees at a store in Ontario found him sleeping in the bottle return area. Deputies said he had hidden several consumable items in his jacket and was attempting to leave without paying.
In both earlier cases, Lawliss was released with appearance tickets.
