No injuries in downtown Ithaca apartment fire

A fire broke out Monday evening on the fourth floor of Asteri Ithaca apartments, but no one was hurt, according to The Ithaca Voice.

The blaze, reported around 6:30 p.m., was contained to a single unit. Firefighters used ladders and broke a window to put it out. Officials say lithium batteries contributed to the fire’s spread, though the exact cause is still under investigation.

Residents briefly evacuated or sheltered in place, but most were allowed to return once the fire was extinguished.
