Police in Canandaigua responded to a wide range of incidents over the past few weeks, resulting in several arrests for offenses ranging from harassment to DWI and child endangerment.
On July 19, officers arrested 40-year-old Houston Fontaine after he was found swimming in a restricted area near Kershaw Park. Fontaine resisted arrest and threw an officer’s body-worn camera into the lake, destroying it. He was charged with criminal mischief, resisting arrest, obstruction, and swimming in a prohibited area.
Several days later, on July 23, 68-year-old O’Neil E. Lollis was picked up on five bench warrants after failing to appear in court for multiple offenses, including trespass, harassment, and disorderly conduct.
A few other notable arrests:
- July 24: Ethan J. Payne, 36, was arrested after reportedly damaging a door during a dispute on Saltonstall Street.
- July 25: Alyssa M. Peterman, 24, was found asleep in her vehicle with an open alcohol container at Lake Front Park after hours.
- July 26: Two separate arrests—58-year-old Clark Keuer was charged with endangering the welfare of a child for allegedly grabbing a 12-year-old by the neck, and 77-year-old Rocky A. Tarantello was charged with DWI after a crash on Lakeshore Drive.
- July 27: Jade M. Fustiano, 44, was arrested for slapping a juvenile during an altercation involving another child. Later that day, Logan T. French, 24, and Tricia A. Chappell, 43, were arrested for harassment and resisting arrest after fighting with officers during an incident on Saltonstall Street.
Police also arrested two drivers on separate drunk driving charges:
- July 28: Joshua M. Chambery, 42, fled from police on a motorcycle and later crashed. He faces multiple charges including DWI, reckless driving, and fleeing police.
- July 30: Joseph M. Burress, 27, was charged with DWI after backing his vehicle over a barrier outside Murphy’s Law on Lakeshore Drive.
Other arrests include:
- July 30: Matthew K. Reasin, 38, received a summons for allegedly threatening another man at Ryan’s Wine and Spirits earlier in the month.
- August 3: Police arrested 47-year-olds Tina Henry and Daniel C. Bebout for harassment after a fight on Tillotson Street.
All individuals are due to appear in Canandaigua City Court at later dates.
