Governor Kathy Hochul is directing nearly $300 million toward more than 50 projects aimed at improving access to high-quality health care across New York.
The funding, awarded through the Statewide Health Care Facility Transformation Program IV, will support hospitals, behavioral health providers, diagnostic centers, and long-term care facilities in every region. Projects will expand inpatient, primary, behavioral health, and long-term care services, with a focus on providers serving vulnerable and underserved populations.
Hochul said the investment will “strengthen the foundation of our health care system” and ensure access regardless of ZIP code. State Health Commissioner Dr. James McDonald said the funds will help providers modernize services and deliver more patient-centered care.
Since 2017, the program has awarded over $4.7 billion to improve access, equity, and quality of care. Additional funding rounds will target health care IT upgrades and safety net provider transformations.
