Three smoke shops in Cayuga County were shut down after a probe into illegal marijuana sales, according to the Finger Lakes Drug Task Force. Complaints from residents and business owners sparked the investigation.
The shops — two in Auburn and one in Aurelius — had no licenses to sell cannabis, confirmed the state Office of Cannabis Management. Court-approved searches Thursday turned up marijuana, THC edibles, vapes, packaging, and scales.
State regulators have ordered the shops closed indefinitely while the investigation continues.
