Waterloo man faces assault charge after McDonald’s altercation

A Waterloo man is facing an assault charge after a reported disturbance at a McDonald’s in the Town of Lyons.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office says deputies arrested 35-year-old Korrey Bennett after he allegedly struck someone during an altercation inside the restaurant, leaving the victim with a noticeable lump on the right side of their face.

The incident happened in Lyons, where Bennett reportedly fled on foot before turning himself in at the Sheriff’s Office. Deputies took him into custody without further incident.

Bennett was charged with assault in the third degree. He was processed and released with an appearance ticket. He’s scheduled to appear in Lyons Town Court on September 9 at 8:30 a.m.
