A traffic stop in Farmington early Tuesday morning led to the arrest of a Phelps man on multiple drug and vehicle charges.
Michael C. Heidemann, 42, was stopped by Ontario County deputies on State Route 96 near Hook Road for several traffic violations. Deputies determined Heidemann was under the influence of drugs and took him into custody.
A search of the vehicle uncovered narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Heidemann was charged with third-degree and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, driving while ability impaired by drugs, and other vehicle and traffic infractions.
He was transported to the Ontario County Jail and held pending centralized arraignment. The New York State Police assisted in the investigation.
