Ithaca drivers should expect detours and delays as resurfacing begins Monday on North Aurora Street, according to local officials. The work will affect the stretch between East Buffalo and East Tompkins streets and is set to continue through August 8.
Bothar Construction crews will start by milling the road, which will be closed to all but emergency vehicles. Once paving begins, driveways and the entire roadway will be inaccessible until the asphalt cools. Sidewalk access will remain open.
Traffic will be rerouted using nearby streets, and the city warns that the schedule is weather-dependent. Residents are urged to avoid the area if possible.
