A nurse was attacked near Highland Hospital in Rochester, sparking a large emergency response, according to 13WHAM.
Monica Scott, a fellow staff member, described finding her colleague covered in blood after an alert was issued Thursday night. The victim, who had only two weeks left before retirement, was treated and released. Hospital officials confirmed the assault happened just off-site and are working with police to find the suspect.
Police say the incident stemmed from a dispute involving a hospital patient. No arrests have been made, and a GoFundMe has been launched to support the injured nurse.
