As part of a new strategic plan, Cayuga County officials gathered feedback from locals during public meetings and a countywide survey, according to the Department of Planning and Economic Development.
Residents shared values like rural charm, clean water, and community pride, while voicing concerns over farmland loss, limited housing, and aging infrastructure. They also expressed hopes for more affordable housing, better transit, and stronger local business support.
Officials say this input will directly guide the county’s long-term development. More public engagement opportunities are planned, and the survey remains open through August 12.
