A retired corrections sergeant and Geneva native has announced his bid for the Ontario County Board of Supervisors.
Sean J. Legg, who spent nearly 24 years with the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, declared his candidacy to represent Wards 1 and 2 in the City of Geneva. The Geneva City Republican Committee has endorsed Legg, who will run on the Bipartisan line. Election Day is November 4.
“I’ve spent my life working in public service, and I know the inner workings of county government,” Legg said. “Geneva deserves its fair share of services from the County, and I intend to advocate for that.”
Legg supports closing the county landfill with a plan that protects both the environment and taxpayers. He is also pushing for expanded mental health and substance abuse programs as alternatives to incarceration, drawing on his background in corrections. Another priority: reopening Geneva’s DMV office to improve service access for residents.
A Geneva High School graduate with a degree in criminal justice, Legg has served on the Geneva Family YMCA board and is active in St. Stephen’s Church and the Knights of Columbus. He currently works at Finger Lakes Recycling.
“I want to be a voice for the people, especially on issues of fairness, safety and community well-being,” he said.
