A fallen tree limb disrupted power in Waterloo Thursday afternoon, damaging local electrical equipment and causing transformers to leak mineral oil, according to the Waterloo Fire Department.
Firefighters swiftly contained the spill, preventing contamination of storm drains and the canal. Repair crews from NYSEG, assisted by Waterloo police, street department workers, and state environmental officials, responded to restore power and manage cleanup.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
