Yankees’ Jazz Chisholm Jr. to participate in 2025 Home Run Derby

New York Yankees second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. is set to make his Home Run Derby debut.

Chisholm announced Thursday night that he will round out the eight-player field for the 2025 event, marking the first time since 2017 a Yankee has participated. That year, Aaron Judge claimed the title while teammate Gary Sanchez also competed.

Chisholm becomes the seventh player in Yankees history to appear in the Derby and aims to become the franchise’s fifth winner. He will also suit up for the Yankees in the 2025 All-Star Game.

Joining Chisholm are Ronald Acuña Jr. of the Atlanta Braves, Brent Rooker from the Athletics, Cal Raleigh of the Seattle Mariners, Junior Caminero of the Tampa Bay Rays, James Wood representing the Washington Nationals, Byron Buxton of the Minnesota Twins, and the Pittsburgh Pirates’ Oneil Cruz.

This year’s Home Run Derby will be held Monday night in Atlanta, with coverage beginning at 8 p.m. on ESPN.
