Erratic driving leads to DWI arrest in Brutus

A deputy stopped a vehicle for erratic driving in Brutus and found the driver had more than twice the legal blood alcohol limit.

Aidan R. Mabbett, 23, of Sennett, was arrested for DWI and operating with a BAC of .08% or higher after the traffic stop just after midnight on June 28.


According to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office, the stop occurred on East Brutus Street Road. Mabbett was taken to the Public Safety Building, where he gave a breath sample showing a BAC of .17%.

He was released with tickets returnable to Brutus Town Court on July 8 at 7 PM.
