The Arc Wayne has been awarded $21,000 from NYSARC Trust Services to support guardianship services for people with disabilities in Wayne County.
The grant, announced Wednesday, is part of a larger $1.6 million commitment made by NYSARC Trust Services to chapters of The Arc New York in 2025. The funds help ensure that individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities have access to legal guardianship and advocacy when no other support exists.
The Arc Wayne’s Guardianship Program currently serves four individuals and one standby, providing essential oversight through a team of dedicated staff and community volunteers.
NYSARC Trust Services administers supplemental needs and pooled trusts that protect financial eligibility for Medicaid and other benefits while improving quality of life. Since 1972, the organization has helped families plan for long-term care and manage assets without jeopardizing vital supports.
Founded in 1964, The Arc Wayne continues to connect people with disabilities to opportunities and services throughout Wayne and surrounding counties.
