Hochul aide on leave amid harassment probe

Gov. Kathy Hochul’s press secretary has been placed on leave following sexual harassment allegations stemming from a June 16 staff retreat, according to Spectrum News. Sources identified the aide as Avi Small, who was reportedly removed from duties immediately after the complaint surfaced last week.

Small, who has served as Hochul’s press secretary since mid-2023, is now under investigation by outside counsel. The governor’s office emphasized its strict zero-tolerance policy and swift action following the report.

Hochul’s administration has touted implementing the toughest workplace protections in state history, vowing accountability while the probe continues.
