Scott Hamula, a longtime professor at Ithaca College, has received the American Advertising Federation’s highest honor for volunteer service, according to the college. He was presented with the Barton A. Cummings Gold Medal Award at the AAF’s national ADMERICA conference in June.
Hamula, director of the college’s Advertising, PR, and Marketing Communications program, is only the second professor ever to receive the award. His decades of service include national leadership roles and advising student teams to major wins, including a national title in 2019.
Previously honored as a Distinguished Advertising Educator, Hamula said he was overwhelmed by the recognition, calling it a meaningful moment for both him and the Roy H. Park School of Communications.
