A midday crash at a busy Arcadia intersection sent two people to the hospital following a three-vehicle collision on Saturday.
According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Spenser P. Fulton of Newark was driving north on State Route 88 when his vehicle collided with a car operated by Virginia K. Jackson, also of Newark. The impact pushed Jackson’s vehicle into a third vehicle driven by Gerald M. Matthews, who was attempting a left turn onto Ryder Road.
Jackson was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with neck pain. Matthews was transported to Newark Wayne Community Hospital for treatment of internal pain and shock. No injuries were reported by Fulton.
Deputies cited Fulton for following too closely and failure to wear a safety belt. He is scheduled to answer the charges in the Town of Arcadia court.
The Newark Fire Department assisted deputies at the scene.
