Yates Community Center names Charles Bollinger as executive director

The Yates Community Center has appointed Charles L. Bollinger III as its new Executive Director, ushering in a new chapter of leadership as the organization prepares to construct a multi-use facility to serve Yates County.

Bollinger brings over 15 years of nonprofit leadership experience and a record of expanding organizational impact through collaboration and mission-driven service. He began his career in 2008 and most notably spent more than a decade at Partners Ending Homelessness, where he helped grow the organization into a regional leader addressing housing insecurity.

Prior to joining YCC, Bollinger led the Montachusett Veterans Outreach Center in Massachusetts, where he oversaw a major increase in the operating budget and expanded housing and veteran services.

“Yates County is a special place, and the Community Center is at the heart of it,” Bollinger said. “I’m honored to help guide the organization through this exciting period of growth.”

He relocated to Penn Yan earlier this year and now steps into his new role at a pivotal time, as YCC works toward constructing its new facility and expanding its services in wellness, education, and recreation.

Board President Suzamie Farnsworth praised the appointment, stating, “Charles brings the experience, energy, and compassion we need as we expand our services and begin construction on our new facility.”

Bollinger is a SUNY Oneonta graduate and has served on its Alumni Board of Directors. He holds training in nonprofit finance and has advised on regional initiatives related to homelessness, public health, and community development.
