The order includes 160 cars for the Long Island Rail Road and 156 for Metro-North, with deliveries beginning in 2029 and ending by 2032. Production will take place at Alstom’s facilities across New York, including its newly expanded plant in Hornell.

Officials say the deal will boost job security and strengthen the region’s economy, while enhancing reliability and accessibility for New York’s rail commuters.
