Following its bombing of three Iranian nuclear sites, the Pentagon said Sunday the U.S. is not pursuing war, but remains open to renewed negotiations, according to the Associated Press. Officials said “Operation Midnight Hammer” severely damaged Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.
Defense leaders said the strikes were not aimed at regime change and faced no resistance, partly due to U.S. decoys. Vice President JD Vance said the operation significantly delayed Iran’s nuclear ambitions and could offer a chance to reset diplomatic relations.
Iran, however, accused Washington of crossing a red line and violating sovereignty, with its foreign minister warning of serious repercussions and condemning the attacks as global destabilizers.
