Roadwork set for County Line Road in Walworth this July

  • / Updated:
  • Staff Report

The Walworth Highway Department has announced a major road project set to begin Monday, July 7, involving grinding work along County Line Road between Plank Road and State Road.

Paving on the same stretch is scheduled to begin Tuesday, July 22, weather permitting. The department is urging drivers to use caution in the work zone and thanks residents in advance for their patience.

To help ensure safety during the roadwork, officials are reminding motorists to follow key work zone guidelines:

  • Research your route before traveling and consider detours.
  • Pay attention to posted signs and avoid distractions such as phones and GPS.
  • Slow down in work zones and be alert to traffic shifts and workers on site.
  • Move into the open lane early and check blind spots when merging.
  • Keep your distance to avoid rear-end collisions, which are common in construction zones.

The Walworth Highway Department emphasizes that work zone safety is everyone’s responsibility and encourages respectful driving around work crews.
