The town of Canandaigua has secured over $140,000 in state funding to improve stormwater management and culvert infrastructure, according to the Finger Lakes Times. The grants, awarded by the Department of Environmental Conservation, aim to help the town reduce pollution and prevent flooding.
One grant of nearly $91,000 will support mapping the town’s stormwater system to identify runoff sources and prioritize improvements. A second $50,000 grant will fund a culvert study to assess aging infrastructure and mitigate erosion risks.
Town officials praised the funding, calling it a critical step toward protecting local waterways and ensuring smarter, long-term infrastructure investments.
