The Newark Garden Club has launched a renovation of its Memorial Garden near the East Avenue Bridge along the canal, aiming to enhance the space with pollinator-friendly plants.
The project is supported by a grant from the 7th District Garden Clubs of New York, which is funding the purchase of new plantings designed to attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.
“The Village of Newark is fortunate to have such an active and talented garden club,” said Mayor Taylor. “Newark is a more beautiful and inviting village due to their efforts.”
Volunteers including Virginia Bodine, Sue Brightman, Sue Yonda, Laurie Pannone, Barbara Wells, and Peggy Bruzee are participating in the garden upgrade.
