The Seneca County Board of Supervisors will convene on Tuesday, June 10, at 6:00 p.m. in Waterloo, with a packed agenda that includes a public hearing on a proposed hotel occupancy tax, major infrastructure resolutions, and a series of budget adjustments.
The meeting will open with a public hearing on Local Law #2 of 2025, which would authorize a countywide hotel or motel occupancy tax. The proposed 3% tax aims to boost tourism funding and support environmental conservation and infrastructure initiatives.
The board will also hear a presentation from the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce and consider resolutions to approve major financial and infrastructure actions, including over $2 million in funding for two bridge rehabilitation projects and amendments to cover costs related to jail inmate mental health care and capital building renovations.
Other items up for vote include:
- Contract approvals for HVAC and architectural services
- Creation of new health department positions for speech and physical therapy
- Adoption of a new county policy for active shooter preparedness
- Extension of the county’s rabies control program grant
- Authorization of the Musselman Triathlon to use county roads
The meeting is open to the public and will be held at the Seneca County Office Building.
