A fire broke out Tuesday morning at a Farmington apartment building, displacing three adults, two children, and several pets.

Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the blaze around 7:20 a.m. at 1072 Willow Brook Bend, along with multiple fire departments. Crews found heavy smoke pouring from an upper-level apartment but quickly brought the fire under control.

Authorities say the fire started in the kitchen. The building’s fire suppression system activated and helped contain the damage. No injuries were reported. The American Red Cross is assisting displaced residents with housing. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Ontario County Fire Coordinator’s Office.
