A Wayne County man accused of trying to drown his mother and her dogs has been released on bail after pleading not guilty, according to police reports. The violent incident took place May 13 at a home on Gates Street in Palmyra.
Takota Spencer allegedly tried to submerge his mother in a bathtub, claiming he was “releasing demons” from her. Police say he also destroyed her phone to prevent a 911 call and attacked an off-duty deputy who intervened.
Spencer faces charges including unlawful imprisonment, reckless endangerment, and resisting arrest. No trial date has been set.
