Wayne-Finger Lakes high school sports: May 30 scoreboard

Postseason play continued Friday with a handful of games, and some Wayne-Finger Lakes teams advanced to the finals while others saw their seasons come to a close.

In baseball, Geneseo captured the Class C1 title with a dominant win over top-seeded Sodus, handing the Spartans just their second loss of the season. On the softball diamond, Bolivar-Richburg pulled away late to upset No. 1 Dundee/Bradford behind Kylee Whitingโ€™s 13-strikeout performance.


In boys lacrosse, top seeds Palmyra-Macedon and Penn Yan cruised into their respective finals, while Bloomfield/Honeoye edged out Midlakes/Red Jacket in a thriller to advance to the Class D championship.

BASEBALL

Class C1 Final

The top-seeded Spartans saw their stellar season come to an as the Blue Devils jumped out early and never let up.ย Evan Laird went 3-for-4 at the plate in the loss, while Austin Cincinello added a two-RBI double, and Garrett Barron scored twice. Sodus finished their season with a 19-2 record, including postseason wins over No. 8 Williamson and No. 5 Pavilion/York.


SOFTBALL

Class C2 Semifinals
No. 4 Bolivar-Richburg 9
No. 1 Dundee/Bradford 2

The Wolverines pulled away with a five-run seventh inning to secure the win over the BraveScots. Danika Loucks delivered a two-run single during the rally and added a team-high two RBI, while Cassidy Stives drove in a run with a sacrifice bunt. Kylee Whiting went 2-for-4 and earned the win in the circle, striking out 13 while allowing just two runs on five hits. The Wolverines played error-free defense, led by Sydney Faulknerโ€™s 14 fielding chances. Korrin Yeoman led Dundee/Bradford with two hits in three at-bats. The BraveScots ended their season with a 13-2 record, including a postseason win over No. 9 Red Jacket.
