Reliant Credit Union has donated $5,000 to support the creation of an inclusive, multi-generational park in Sodus Point, marking the first major contribution to the Friends of Willow Park initiative.
The check presentation took place May 12 at Willow Park, where Reliant leaders joined community advocates in celebrating the project’s momentum.
“At Reliant, we believe in supporting initiatives that bring people together and strengthen the fabric of our communities,” said Pamela Heald, President & CEO of Reliant Credit Union. “We’re honored to contribute to Friends of Willow Park’s vision of an inclusive space where individuals and families of all ages can connect, play, and thrive.”
The Friends of Willow Park aims to build a year-round destination that promotes physical and social wellness for all abilities and ages. Organizers hope the park will draw families from across the region.

“Friends of Willow Park were very excited to receive our first $5,000 donation from Reliant Credit Union!” said Laurie Verbridge, a member of the group’s board of directors. “Reliant is highly respected for their dedication, commitment and leadership to our communities throughout Wayne County. On behalf of Sodus Point and the rest of Wayne County, thank you, Reliant, for believing in the Sodus Point Playground Project.”
Heald, joined by credit union staff at the event, also expressed hope that Reliant’s donation will inspire others to support the effort.
