Two men were taken into custody late Sunday night after leading deputies and state troopers on a high-speed motorcycle chase that reached over 100 miles per hour on State Route 332.
Ontario County deputies arrested Reed Michael McBride, 21, of Fairport, and Devin T. Chamberlain, 25, of Canandaigua, for unlawfully fleeing a police officer, unauthorized speed contest, reckless driving, and multiple traffic violations.
According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, the two were observed racing northbound near the Farmington-Canandaigua Townline Road when deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop. Instead, both riders accelerated and ran a red light while evading police.
Chamberlain was caught by deputies while trying to flee. McBride continued speeding northbound but was eventually intercepted by New York State Police. He attempted evasive maneuvers but was apprehended shortly afterward.
Both men were transported to the Ontario County Jail for processing. Their motorcycles were impounded, and each was issued appearance tickets. McBride also received additional citations from state police and is scheduled to appear in both the Town of Canandaigua and Town of Farmington courts.
