A waterfront redevelopment in Cayuga is getting a major funding boost, according to Governor Kathy Hochul’s office. A $1 million grant has been awarded to help turn a Beacon Bay Marina building into a lodging destination, complementing $2.5 million already secured through the state’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative.
Plans for the marina include 10 to 15 suites and a rooftop event space. Hochul announced the grant as part of the Restore New York program, which distributed over $50 million statewide. Cayuga was the only recipient in its county.
However, according to reporting by The Citizen, a proposed project to reopen Auburn’s Hunter Dinerant failed to secure funding.
