Sectional play rolled on across Section V Friday despite poor weather conditions, with several Wayne-Finger Lakes teams advancing to the next round.
Mynderse’s Alan Plummer dazzled in a dominant shutout, fanning 14 and earning his 300th career strikeout, while Rylee Richardson tossed a five-inning no-hitter with 11 strikeouts to lead Lyons softball. In other action, Geneva baseball pulled off an upset, and Palmyra-Macedon softball shut out Wayne.

Will Elkovitch jump-started the Blue Devils’ offense with a two-run double in the first inning, setting the tone early. Matty Eygabroad added a two-run single in the same frame as Victor built a lead they never gave up. Jack Guiffre pitched 3.2 strong innings, allowing just one hit with five strikeouts, while Bradon Wilson closed the door with 10 outs and five punchouts in relief. Matthew Lanning, John Swartz, and Alex Long each chipped in with RBI singles.

Braxton Wilkes led the Screaming Eagles with two hits, including a double, and recorded his 100th career strikeout on the mound. Ayden Klapp and Zachary Donk each added a hit for Midlakes. Jackson Nurse had an RBI double and made a highlight-reel diving stop to save an extra-base hit.

Alan Plummer was dominant on the mound for the Blue Devils, tossing six one-hit innings with 14 strikeouts while also reaching the 300-career strikeout milestone. He added a single, three walks, and an RBI at the plate. Calabro Mahoney led the offense with two doubles and three RBI, while Jeremiah Furman chipped in with a single, double, and two RBI. Mynderse racked up hits from across the lineup, including RBI singles from Josh Hutchins, Aiden Levis, Byron Catalano, and Michael Miller.

Caiden Watson sparked the Marauders with an RBI double in the fourth inning to break a tie and give the Wiliamson a lead they wouldn’t give up. The team plated three runs in the frame, with David DeFisher and Charles Walter each delivering RBI singles. DeFisher was dominant on the mound, tossing a complete game with 12 strikeouts while allowing just one earned run on six hits. He also went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, while Watson finished 2-for-2.

Isobel Law tossed a two-hitter with three strikeouts to help the Blue Devils. Kenadee Comstock led the offense with two doubles and three RBI, while Mackenzie Visingard collected three hits and drove in two. Ryleigh Fontana tripled and added an RBI, and Kennedy Chizuk chipped in with two hits and an RBI. Victor’s lineup produced from top to bottom, with all but one batter notching a hit and an RBI.

The Red Raiders jumped out to a six-run lead in the first inning and never looked back. Seager Emerick struck out 10 and allowed just three hits in a strong performance from the circle, while also collecting two hits and an RBI at the plate. Addison Gendron and Emmalynne Bedette each added two hits and an RBI, with Bedette also doubling. Jillian Anthony drove in a run, and Elianna Rouland and Briana VanHaneghan chipped in hits.
