Man found with cocaine after violating court order in Locke

A Cayuga County man was arrested just four minutes after being served a court-issued protection order, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies took 50-year-old Ricky A. White into custody on May 16 after he returned to the residence he was legally barred from visiting, violating the stay-away order issued by Family Court. The incident occurred around 11 p.m. in the Town of Locke.

White had just been served the protection order, which prohibited any communication with the victim and banned him from the victim’s property. While deputies were still on scene, White reappeared at the residence, prompting his immediate arrest.

During a search at the time of his arrest, deputies found a substance on White that later tested positive for cocaine. He was charged with Criminal Contempt in the 2nd degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, both misdemeanors.

White was processed at the Public Safety Building and appeared at CAP Court the next morning. He was remanded to jail in lieu of $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond. A future court appearance in the Town of Locke is pending.
