A man from Little Valley is facing felony charges after crashing a vehicle while allegedly driving under the influence in the Town of Victory, the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Deputies arrested 49-year-old Harold A. Hensel on May 17 after responding to a motor vehicle accident on Route 104 near Coleman Road at approximately 2:21 a.m. Investigators determined that a truck traveling westbound had veered off the south shoulder and into a ditch.
Hensel was identified as the driver and found to be intoxicated at the scene. He was transported to the Public Safety Building, where he was processed and charged with felony driving while intoxicated due to a prior conviction within ten years. He also faces a felony charge for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 1st Degree, along with additional traffic infractions.
Hensel was arraigned at CAP Court later that morning and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Victory Court at a later date.
