  • Staff Report

A 63-year-old Lyons man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after allegedly attempting to evade an intersection by driving through a business parking lot, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrested Ronald A. Rash on May 21 for driving while ability impaired by drugs. The stop occurred on Route 14 in the Town of Lyons.

Deputies said Rash’s unusual driving behavior led to a traffic stop, during which officers detected a strong odor of burnt cannabis from his vehicle. After conducting Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and a Drug Recognition Expert evaluation, authorities determined Rash was under the influence of drugs at the time.

He was processed at the Wayne County Jail and released on appearance tickets for the Town of Lyons Court.
