A 53-year-old Lyons man faces a criminal mischief charge after allegedly damaging property at the Wayne County Jail shortly after his release, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives arrested Merle E. Adams of Water Street following an investigation into an April 6 incident. Authorities say Adams began pounding on the jail doors after being released and damaged a security access reader during the outburst.
Adams was taken back to the jail for processing and released on an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear in Town of Lyons Court on June 17 at 8:30 a.m.
